Mark Page
Summary
After a promising start as a child actor Mark decided a future running a market stall on Albert Square was not for him. Instead a career as an office clerk beckoned and many a happy day was spent chasing up unpaid accounts.
However a new challenge presented itself and with the help of an Open University course on object oriented programming with an induction into the joy of Smalltalk, Mark joined an IT department during the hey days just before Y2K drifted past. Six years on Mark has had experience of mainframe programming (CICS, Cobol, DB2 and JCL), spent a stint doing web front end development (VB6 webclasses and ASP) and a stretch as a COM mid tier developer. Most recently Mark has thrilled with IBM WebSphere Portal and the IBM collaborative tools building a proof of concept enterprise strength portal and delivering this through a secure interface to the world wide web.
Next he hopes to be furthering his retirement plans while working with the team to deliver the next generation of web applications !!
